Spanish tennis star and number one men’s tennis player in the world, Carlos Alcaraz, played a stunning shot during his match against Matteo Berrettini on Monday during the ongoing Wimbledon.
During the second set, it seemed as if Berrettini would bag the point after a playing a wide volley but Alcaraz managed to smack it around the net and between the umpire’s chair to complete the backhand winner in a stunning manner.
The crowd immediately got up on their feet to applaud Alcaraz’s impressive shot.
Alcaraz dropped a set but beat Berrettini 3-6 6-3 6-3 6-3 to qualify for the quarter-final of the event.
Alcaraz will lock horns with 20-year-old Holger Rune on Wednesday in what will be the youngest Wimbledon men's quarter-final in the professional era.
"I'm hungry for more," Alcaraz said. "It's something I really wanted. I came in this year with that goal — get into the quarter-final, I'm wanting more.”
Meanwhile, defending champion Djokovic, despite dropping his first set of the tennis tournament, defeated Poland's Hubert Hurkacz 7-6(6) 7-6(6) 5-7 6-4 in his 100th match at the tournament.
Djokovic, bidding for a fifth successive title, took his winning streak at Wimbledon to 32 matches and is now unbeaten on Centre Court for a decade.
Seven-time champion Djokovic will take the court on Tuesday in his 56th Grand Slam quarter final, against Russian seventh seed Andrey Rublev.
"He put up a great performance," said Djokovic.
"I don't recall the last time I felt this miserable on returning games to be honest, because of his incredibly accurate and powerful serve."
